Our Community Promise

Watford’s Precious Community CIC exists to operate and develop a multi-use community centre that delivers services for the local community.

Our work is focused on supporting

  • Children aged 0-8 years

  • Parents and families

  • Senior members of the community, particularly those at risk of social isolation or loneliness

  • We are also committed to supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, and their families, by providing inclusive, community-based opportunities.

As part of this, the building is operated with a strong emphasis on safeguarding, accessibility, and community benefit. All use of the space must align with these principles.

We welcome organisations whose activities support and complement these aims. For example, activities that support community well-being, such as small faith-based gatherings for the community's elderly members, are particularly welcome. Especially where they offer opportunities to come together and socialise before or after prayer.

The organisation is led by individuals with professional and academic expertise in early childhood education, including qualified and trainee teachers and doctoral-level study in the field. Directors also hold relevant professional training, including Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) training, Safeguarding Level 3, and paediatric first aid. This informs our strong focus on safeguarding, inclusive practice, and high-quality provision for children and families.

Further information about the team will be available as the website continues to develop.

Transitioning from MCCC to Watford’s Precious Community CIC

As part of the transition to Watford’s Precious Community CIC, all current and prospective hirers are required to complete this form to register their interest in using the space under new arrangements.

Please note that all bookings will be subject to availability, safeguarding requirements, and formal agreements.

During the interim transition period, regular hirers transferring from Multicultural Community Centre (MCCC) to Watford’s Precious Community CIC will be charged £17 per hour, in line with the published rate on the MCCC website. This rate will be subject to review following the transition period, once full running costs of the community centre are better understood.

Public liability insurance is a mandatory requirement for all regular hirers wishing to use the space. Evidence of valid insurance must be provided as part of this process.

If you don't have insurance, you can get cost-effective cover from a range of providers. One example is Zurich

All organisations are also required to have an appropriate safeguarding policy in place. If you require support in developing a policy, guidance can be found via NSPCC Safeguarding Policy Guidance

If the premises will no longer meet your needs, or may not meet your needs in the future due to changes in space and capacity, we are happy to offer support in identifying alternative venues.

We have already supported other groups in finding suitable premises where required, and we will do our best to assist where we can.

If you would like support in finding an alternative venue, please follow this link to submit a request.

If the space continues to meet your needs and you would like to work with us moving forward, we would love to hear from you. Please complete the form below to register your interest:
